Windy, it was not. Start early, no later than 8am, as the Lower Windy Hill parking lot fills up quickly. Head south on Spring Ridge, to and up Hamms Gulch (my favorite), north on Lost Trail, to Anniversary Trail, then Spring Ridge, on the way down, to Betsy Crowder, and back to the lot. 8.5 miles in 3 hours and 20 minutes, as efficient a hike as any, for today’s crew (5 hikers and one super-tired pup). Apres hike Waterloos and Barebottle lagers, for those so inclined. I founded the Peninsula Hiking Group two years ago, in June 2021. I will add this one to the list of foundational, annual hikes.
