You could live in the San Francisco Bay Area for a lifetime and never find this place. 11.5 mile hike (1.5 of which was bonus mileage, due to a poorly placed sign (or a leader who was just going with the flow)), deep in Marin County. Super cold start (31 degrees F) warming up nicely once at the top of Mount Barnabe, with Tomales Bay, Point Reyes, and the mighty Pacific to the west, and Mount Diablo, looming, to the east. Perfect hike for mid to late Fall. Quiet, serene, as good an opportunity as any to fill your lungs with fresh, clean air, breathe easy, savor the moment, share stories with friends, and plan the next day or week. I’d write more, but too much to do. Urban (San Francisco) hike next month. Stay tuned.
